Tour program:

Day 1:
Petrozavodsk – Lake Onega – Kizhi Island

Arrival in Petrozavodsk. Meeting the group with SIVER pickup sign at the entrance of the railway station under the clock (opposite the railway platform).
Breakfast at a cafe. Personal belongings are handed over for safekeeping.
         • Sightseeing tour around Petrozavodsk. Visiting the historically significant districts of the city and the famous Lake Onega embankment. Your tour guide will tell about the history and formation of Petrozavodsk.
         •   Departure from Petrozavodsk to Kizhi island by Meteor motor ship. Duration: 7 hrs. The one-way trip takes 1.30 hrs. Tour around the museum & reserve. Total stay on the island: 4 hrs.

Day 2:
Valaam Island – Sortavala –Ruskeala – Tohmajoki Falls

Breakfast at the hotel/packed breakfast.
06.00 am Departure to Sortavala (250 km).
             • Tour to Valaam Island, 45 min, by motor ship across Lake Ladoga. Tour around the central estate: 1.5-2 hrs. Visiting the Transfiguration Cathedral.
Return to Sortavala,
Lunch at a cafe, Sortavala.
   • Transfer to Ruskeala Mountain Park. Tour around the marble canyon. Paid extra: riding a trolley over the canyon or boating on the emerald lake.
                • Visiting Tohmajoki Falls, a place, where The Dawns Here Are Quiet movie was filmed.
Dinner on the go (paid extra).
11.00 pm Return to Petrozavodsk.

Day 3: 
South Karelia – Holy Trinity Alexander-Svirsky Monastery
Breakfast at the hotel
Departure to the Holy Trinity Alexander-Svirsky Monastery.  It was founded by a Veps and one of the most revered saints in the North-West — Alexander Svirsky, monk of Valaam Monastery, in late 15th century.  The tsar Ivan the Terrible prayed to Alexander Svirsky before capturing Kazan, and after the victory declared him a wonderworker nationwide. The sponsor of the monastery was Boris Godunov. Mikhail Fedorovich, the first tsar in the Romanovs dynasty, honored the saint too. Emperor Peter the Great also visited the monastery repeatedly.
Tour around the two wings of the monastery: Holy Trinity wing that dates back to late 15th century, and Transfiguration built in the 19th century (1.5 hrs).  Visiting the church with the relics of Alexander Svirsky.
Lunch at the monastery's refectory.
Free time, visiting the candle shop. 

Day 4:
South-West of Karelia – Karelian village Kinerma

Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure to the Karelian Kinerma village! The most beautiful village in Russia (2017)!
            • Exploring Karelian Vedlozero traditions.
            • Tour around the unique wooden architectural ensemble of the 19th century's Karelia
Just one day is enough to immerse in the atmosphere of the authentic Karelian culture. All you need is to come to the ancient Karelian village, walk along its streets, gasp at its architecture typical to the Northern houses, drop in one of them and enjoy tea with kalittos. Yes, Karelian kalittos are very tasty! Try yourself!

Day 5:
Central Karelia – Kivach Waterfall – Mount Sampo – Marcial Waters
Breakfast at the hotel.
11.00 am Departure (take your things with you).
          • Visiting the shungite center, learning about the physical properties of the mineral in a show.  You will visit the relaxation room, savor Karelian tea.
          • Church of Saint Peter in the village of Marcial Waters is a unique monument of Peter the Great's era, and after the plant beside Konch-Ozero, it ranks second among the preserved monuments of that time. This Orthodox church dates back to 1721; its project, according to the legend, was prepared by the emperor himself.
          • Visiting the beautiful viewpoint on Mount Sampo near Lake Konch-Ozero.
          • Tour to the first Russian resort Marcial Waters;
          • Tasting healing water from three springs.
Lunch at a cafe
          • Tour to Kivach reserve and its one of the largest plain waterfalls in Europe. Its height is 10.7 m.
          • Visiting the arboretum with the grove of rare Karelian birches. Exploring the Museum of Nature.
Return to Petrozavodsk.
06.00 pm Finish, transfer to Petrozavodsk railway station.
Departure of the group by evening trains.
